“Do I have my independence—and does my adviser?”

We value our freedom. We’re not obligated to sell a certain product or to push strategies that don’t make sense. We have the freedom to do whatever makes the most sense for a client. We are legally obligated to act in our clients’ best interests as fiduciaries, and so we strive to do so, every time. We try to make sure our clients have independence, too. We want to make sure they have a chance to achieve the goals they set for themselves, and that they’re not beholden to outside forces (like a second career) if and when they decide to retire.
